The hiking paradise

The Ankogel hiking paradise in the Hohe Tauern National Park - truly is the gateway to the National Park. You can see this with the naked eye when your gaze wanders over the magnificent landscape with lush alpine meadows with grazing cows to the typical larches and mountain pines of the mountains, only to get caught up in the white mountain peaks. If you want to enjoy the mountain experience in a relaxing way, you don't have to walk up the mountains on foot, but you can take the cable car. The Ankogel high mountain cable cars take hikers from the valley station (at 1,287 m) to lofty heights in two stages. The first stage leads to the middle station. This is the ideal starting point for many small and large mountain tours. The second stage of the Ankogel lifts continues to the top station on the Elschesattel (2,650 m), which rewards visitors with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain massifs. Below the top station, the Hannoverhaus is already tempting visitors to stop for a bite to eat.
